Low-cost carriers make Spain an economical option for international Conferences and Corporate Meetings.
With low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet flying from the UK to the well known coastal and city resorts like Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Valencia, Murcia and Bilbao, access to Spain is no problem.  Today you can even use them to travel to destinations such as Asturias, Alicante and La Coruña to experience a total different Spain.
European budget airlines are increasing their presence in Spain. Ryanair for example is launching many new flights from UK, Germany and various other markets to Palma, Barcelona and Alicante. Easyjet will also launch additional flights from Madrid to Palma. Air Berlin will increase flights from Germany to Palma and from there onwards to 14 domestic destinations.
The boom in low-cost airlines in Europe has reached Spain, last but not least, with the launch and rapid expansion of Vueling and  Clickair, two local budget airlines that aim to grow fast and take on dominant foreign airlines.
The Barcelona-based airline Vueling for example has grown very fast over the last two years and increased passenger numbers by 75% to 3.5 million in 2006. It currently operates a fleet of 16 A320s to 11 destinations within Spain and selected European cities.
Clickair currently operates 12 A320s on domestic and selected international routes. It has just announced flights to North Africa, Russia, Eastern Europe and more destinations, which will give it 28 international and eight domestic destinations. Clickair ambitiously plans to expand to a fleet of 30 jets by the end of 2008 and carry 10 million passengers, which would make it Spain’s number two and Europe’s fourth-largest budget airline.
