The Art of Incentives, Conferences and Meetings
INCENTIVE, comes from the Latin word ‘incendere’, which means, ‘to set on fire’. CONFERENCE comes from the word ‘con-ferentsia’ which means ‘to bring together’ MEETING means ‘The instance of coming together; an encounter”.
All 3 focus on human contact and bringing people together in different settings.
Our intention is to create meaningful experiences, which communicate values and touch people deeply inside. Why not leave Norway feeling enriched.
‘Ildsjel’ a word which only exists in the Scandinavian languages means ”fire soul” and is used for those people who burn for something, who live their dream in spite of hardship. They are inspired and they inspire others; a value often lacking in today’s world.
Our Regions
Norway is a magical arena for your and our guests and has a dramatic nature creating powerful inner and outer experiences and authentic meetings with our “ildsjel”.
The contrasts of Norway vary from the south with large, softly shaped rocks, thousands of islands and sandy beaches; the fjords with their majestically elevated mountains, glaciers and enormous waterfalls and the magic North with the tundra and the Lofoten each inspiring in its own way. Even the light is wrapped in contrasts: we have the magical Northern Lights in the winter and the Midnight Sun in the summer.
Meaningful activities
Many aspects of rural living have been forgotten in our busy city society Our programmes are based on uncovering the creative abilities and inner human strength to work together.
By discovering ourselves and others and connecting deeper with colleagues we share, support and inspire each other. Our “ildsjel” programme integrates your clients /employees with a tiny mountain village of 220 people. Accommodation and activities are based on village culture and the creative abilities of our guests. It is an authentic merging of 2 cultures, and their way of life.
Together with our “ildsjel” we have designed activities which reflect the local soul of the villagers and introduce tradition, culture and a simpler way of being.
Idea for small or big groups
Using the natural materials of Norway’s huge forests we give the entire group (any size possible) a design, usually a sauna, a shelter, a log cabin. Dividing into small teams, they construct parts of the whole project.
When they bring all parts together they have truly created something for this community. Expert architects and woodworkers are involved to ensure the quality of the finished construction. This activity uncovers different qualities and abilities in us, brings us together without words and is a time to share and get to know each other better.
In the evening we construct a camp and use it as our dinner location.
Big tents serve as back up or are ideal for a different type of conference setting. A huge fireplace is where we enjoy our coffee break and the base camp offers many activities, which can enhance, inspire or deepen the theme of the conference.
Undiscovered and unique in Europe, Norway is home to fjords like those in Chile and, whilst it is located close to the North pole, Norway’s coastline is ice-free with a continental climate - truly an unusual country. venuesnorway.com would be delighted to tell you more.
